Our school organised a Plantation programme on 6th of June, i.e., today to raise awareness about the importance of planting trees and preserving our natural resources.

Under the esteemed guidance and support of the _Principal Sis. Nazrana Shafi_ and _Vice Principal Bro. Abdul Jabbar,_ this programme aimed to promote environmental awareness and instill a sense of responsibility towards nature among the students.

The Plantation Day began with an inauguration ceremony that included Quran Recitation, speech by the Principal of Al Furqan Women’s Islamic College, Speeches by the students and plantation inauguration by the Heads of Arabic Department.

⭕ Further, Students were divided into groups to carry out the Plantation Activities.

🌰 To foster a sense of ownership and involvement, students actively participated in sowing seeds of various vegetables. They learned about seed selection, sowing techniques. This activity aimed to develop a lifelong connection with nature.

🌱 Students were also engaged in planting saplings around the school campus. Under the guidance of teachers, they dug holes, placed the saplings carefully and covered them with soil. This hands-on experience allowed students to understand the process of tree planting and significance of providing proper care to ensure their growth.

🍃 *As a part of today’s event, students also planted Malabar spinach, a leafy vegetable known for it’s nutritional value. They also learned about the installation of trelisses. This activity encouraged students to explore innovative gardening techniques and sustainable food production, Alhamdulillah*

🍚 🍋 *Apart from the aforementioned activities, the students and teachers were engaged in a culinary activity centered around traditional food. We along with the students prepared poha, a dish made from beaten rice and refreshing lemonade using locally sourced ingredients. Traditional food brought by the students along with poha and lemonade was served to all the students.*
*Thai activity promoted the use of sustainable, locally available resources and the importance of traditional cuisine in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.*

*Alhamdulillah, the Plantation programme at our school was a resounding success, fostering a deeper understanding of environmental preservation among the students. The event not only created a sense of pride but also left a lasting impact on our students’ attitude towards nature conservation.*

*It’s been said that if we are not grateful to the people we will not be grateful to Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala. Hence, we are enormously grateful to the beloved parents of our dear students for their kind cooperation and support as well as to the teachers for their wholehearted involvement in guiding and educating the students about the significance of the trees and environment in human life.*
